"Equine Bowen Therapy is a gentle, transformative approach that unlocks a horse's natural ability to heal, and I am passionate about bringing this incredible therapy to horses in need of relief and balance."
What is Equine Bowen?
Equine Bowen Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique that uses subtle, rolling movements over key muscles and soft tissues to activate your horse's natural self-healing response. This non-invasive therapy works through the nervous system to promote balance in the body, helping to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and increase flexibility and range of motion.
Commonly used for horses experiencing stiffness, unexplained lameness, behavioural changes, or pain-related issues, Bowen Therapy offers a calming and holistic approach to healing — without the need for forceful manipulation or medication. It's also widely used to support injury recovery, enhance performance, and maintain overall equine well-being.

What happens during a treatment?
During a Surrey Equine Bowen session, the practitioner uses gentle, rolling movements with their fingers, thumbs, or hands over specific areas of the horse's muscles, tendons, and fascia. These movements are applied in a carefully structured sequence, with brief pauses between each set to give the horse's nervous system time to register and respond.
These intentional breaks are a key part of the treatment — allowing the body to process the input, release muscular tension, and activate its natural self-healing mechanisms. Horses often show signs of deep relaxation during the session, and many display positive physical and behavioural changes as they let go of stress and begin to regain balance and comfort.
